Heart & Ring

#24 - Hearts

The heart card pictures a heart or hearts, and non surprisingly, has to do with love. From childhood we learn that the heart can be colored red or pink, and can be drawn into the shape of a kind of oval with a pointed bottom and a dimple on top with two symmetrical sides. We are taught how to draw it, cut it out, trace it in every way imaginable, even though that shape that we learn is not at all similar to our real biological heart. Despite the shape’s misgivings in biology and history, it’s a very powerful symbol, and just looking at it garners feelings of love, adoration, and affection. A teenage girl may doodle hearts in her school notebook when thinking about her crush, while a 99-year-old man may sentimentally gaze at the heart on his wedding band or locket, remembering his life long lover. A heart symbol is universal. It is recognized by all ages, races, religions, and cultures. It can also mean the love, desire, or affection or fondness for a thing, place, or past time. We may love a hobby, or a pet, or have a favorite child or friend. A heart talks about what gives us happiness, bliss, and makes us complete.

A reading of a heart card may indicate that you have found your true love. This may be something that hasn’t happened yet and is very much on your mind. This may be your most burning or unfulfilled desire. You may have found love but not true love, you may be recovering from love gone horribly wrong. Overall, what is probably happening is that you are not satisfied with your life and are not doing what your true heart and soul desire. There is an inconsistency in your actions that needs to be addressed, or it is possible that you will not reach your full potential.

A heart could also be referring to your literal heart. You may have heart issues, or issues with your blood vessels, veins, or arteries. You may be a candidate for organ transplant. You might have some kind of circulation issue or anemia or blood problem. It also could refer to something pink or red in color.

#25 - Ring

A ring is the shape of a circle, basically, it’s as simple as that. This is not a complicated symbol. It is a symbol in the shape of a circle, with no beginning and no end. It continues upon itself forever. Although there is not reference to what a ring is made of in its definition, throughout culture, we have attached a metallic feel to the ring, that it must be constructed in metal in order to be a ring. The symbol of a ring has also gained romantic symbolism, possibly because of it’s eternal shape and powerful role in ceremonies of marriage and anniversary. A ring is the symbol that one gives when proposing marriage, rings are traded when the marriage ceremony occurs, and often given as anniversary gifts. Rings are often inscribed with the initials of lovers or a special date, like the name of a child, wedding date, or birthdate. Rings are seen hand and hand with love, and have very special meaning and symbolism. You would never give a ring as a gift to a person for whom you did not have some kind of romantic interest, unless it was a family member, heirloom, or some other kind of special circumstance. Rings are not just for anyone in your life. Rings are forever, and a symbol, basically, of eternity, or eternal love.

A ring is the symbol of a marriage, of a contract, it is a bond. It can also be seen as an asset, as rings are predominately cast in precious metals of platinum, gold, or silver, and adorned in diamonds or precious gemstones. Thinking of a ring might lead a person to the idea of a jeweler, protection, a safe, a vault, or assets in general. As health is concerned, the ring can call into question the systems that make a circle upon themselves. The vascular system, or lymphatic system, for example, are systems in the body that start where they begin, and must continue to function in this manner for us to live. The ring usually invokes the colors gold or silver. The timing that a ring indicates is forever. In the popular movie trilogy “The Lord of The Rings”, based on a series of books written in the 1950’s, the entire series revolves around the main characters coming across a ring with mythical and magical powers, and what they must do to keep it out of the hands of evil, forever.

Hearts + Ring

It’s not surprising that the heart and ring cards are right next to each other in the list of Lenormand cards. Although they can be drawn independently of each other, they very often go very well together. Hearts are a symbol of love and a ring is symbolic of marriage, the institution of love. To draw these cards together means only one thing— that you will be getting married soon, that you need to get married, or that you will soon find the one you are destined to be with together. If you are already currently married, this is an affirmation that you are with the right person and that although you may have fallen out of love or begun to take each other for granted, you’ve definitely make the right life partner decision and you should remember and/or renew your vows to this very special person.

Numerology

The heart is represented by the number 24, and the ring is represented by the number 25. When we add these numbers together, 24 + 25 = 49. Because forty-nine is not a single digit number, we must then add the digits of 49 together, and we get 4 + 9 = 13. Because thirteen is still not a single digit number, we must reduce again. 1 + 3 = 4.

The Number 4

The Number 4 — The number 4 goes very well with things that are stable, a car has 4 wheels, a home has 4 walls, a chair has 4 legs. Four is a number that everything else is built upon. As you meet people and become romantically interested in them, you may or may not begin to build a relationship with them, or a foundation with them. The four reminds you to make it legal, get a home together, have children together, do everything you can to plant your roots and grow your tree of life and love with this person. Four is one of the most fundamental numbers that there can be, and without it, everything that we’ve built falls down. If you do not move forward with marriage to this person, or by renewing your love for this person, everything you’ve built up until this point is really nothing, without foundation, and can all fall down. In time, four can also mean four days, four weeks, four months, four years. It can also symbolize that something will happen in the month of April.

Today's Action Steps:

If you do not have a ring, you should start shopping. If you have a ring but not a date, you need to set one. If you are currently married and haven't told your spouse how you feel in awhile, or done a simple romantic act like writing a love letter or buying some flowers, you should consider this. These cards are making it clear that you need to further cement your relationship and take the next step to ensure that you are with this person for the rest of your life. If you have not met this person yet, rest assured you will very soon, possibly within a time period of a multiple of 4.
