Bear & Child

#15 - Bear

Bear Lenormand: The Card in Five Words

  • Impatience
  • Power
  • Strength
  • Control
  • Dominance

The Lenormand symbolization of the Bear card is that of power and strength. It seeks to attach itself to any form, and takes over, almost in a dominant manner. It can be physical, such as an older family member or a boss at work, or generally a domineering character that you must deal with a lot of the time.

There are two sides to power. The first is that of a more positive meaning, such as a mother protecting her child in the way a bear itself might protect its cub. That determination to refuse to see harm come their way is very respectful and usually involves the backing down of those who no longer wish to challenge it.

The other side of the Bear card is that you can get too attached to controlling something, no matter how nice or kind your intentions might be. You, or someone you know, may be acting aggressively and this assertion will not bode well for those on the receiving end, nor you. The meaning of Bear can alter depending on your own current situation, so you should invite it where it fits.

#13 - Child

Child Lenormand: The Card in Five Words

  • Play
  • Innocence
  • Immaturity
  • Play
  • Carefree

Children, in their innocent manner, see everything with new eyes. They are yet to be brought down by the problems life can throw our way as adults, and they never give up. They see the fun in opportunity, rather than the fear or dread, and that is the main message behind the Child Lenormand card.

Child invokes a new way of thinking, deducing that any previous were detrimental to you or your progress. It asks you to leap forward, as if you were living your experiences through the eyes of a child and being able to release the ‘what if this all goes wrong’ type of thoughts that may accompany your journey.

There is a level of inexperience with the Child card, as well as a dash of naivety. Any new process would offer the same kind of uncertainty, but it mustn’t shroud your ultimate goal. Use Child to embrace your mistakes and try again, rather than give up and be your stumbling block. Where there are new perspectives, there are new dreams to be made, and Child encourages this.

Bear + Child

You have been controlled for a long time, either by an older figure or a boss that you no longer get along with. Bear and Child combinations nearly always result in your winning, because you are beginning to see that a new chapter is possible. If you took a firm belief in yourself, you may end up wondering why you didn’t take this leap of faith sooner.

As Bear protects Child, it does so in a nurturing, loving way, taking away the control and manipulation you may be used to. This is a time for rejoicing, and a time for standing up for yourself in ways you previously never imagined.

The Number 2

Numerology number 2 represents the highly emotional individual. Just as high as the emotion is the affection, and that may be something you are prepared and ready to offer yourself, rather than anyone else, especially initially. Number two can represent learning, going back to school, or applying knowledge you have picked up in the school of life, and using it in real life situations.

The beauty of number 2 is that it asks you to look at those who support you and want to be on your side. It rejects all negativity, and instead broadens your view of loyalty and respect.

Today's Action Steps:

Today you must say goodbye to a person or situation that is simply unhealthy to you. It could even represent blocking toxicity in favor of a more peaceful way of living. This is something you have wanted and craved for possibly years, and only now are you finally ready to cut the cords and allow Bear and Child to guide you to a new beginning.
