Depression seeks to take away the joy that God freely gives to us. We must pray against this dark force and assert the glory and grace of God upon our minds and life.
To fend off the weight of depression, say this prayer
Dear Father, thank you for the gift of life. Now I pray that since you have given me life and the promise of good days, the dark clouds of depression will roll away. I pray that joy returns to my heart. I pray you to heal my heart from all the hurt; those that I know and have acknowledged and those that I don't know and have not yet acknowledged. I pray you to give me the strength to move past what has hurt me and bring your enduring peace once more to my heart.
