An unexplained voice could signify that your inner spirit wants to be acknowledged.

Our gut can feel things before we know it. For example, you feel like something is up without knowing why. Maybe you're tired, or perhaps something else is going on.

Whatever it is, your gut is telling you something about yourself. And while it may not seem too complex, listening to your gut is crucial.

When you feel, your body reacts physically. If you're sad, your eyes start tearing up; if happy, your face becomes brighter. These physical changes happen because your body responds to the emotional state you're experiencing.

Now, you probably don't notice anything different about your body when you're having a good day. But when you're stressed or anxious, you might feel like your stomach hurts or your heart starts beating fast. This is how you're reacting to the stress.

So, when you feel an emotion, whether it's sadness or happiness, your body does react physically. However, sometimes people confuse their emotions with their body's reactions. It's like someone could say, "I'm feeling angry," but not realize that his hands are shaking. Or, they could say, "My stomach feels funny." They don't know why this is, but they just need to eat something.

The reason it's important to listen to your gut feeling is because it lets you know what's happening inside of you. So, next time you want to figure out what's wrong, ask yourself: is my gut telling me something? What do I feel? Do I know why I feel this way?

Perhaps the voice is in your heart

Our hearts are an extension of the brain. They pump blood around our bodies, regulate us, and keep us going. But we should look at what's happening inside our chests too. A part of us feels things deeply, and it's called the heart. And just like the rest of our organs, it has a purpose and can listen to what the world is telling us spiritually.

The heart is powerful. It keeps us active. So why do we call it the heart? Because it's where we feel things deeply — feelings like love, sadness, and peace. These emotions are stored deep within our cells, and it's here that we express ourselves most fully.

But our hearts represent more too. They represent something that helps us know who we truly are. This inner self is called the soul. It's the soul that makes our hearts beat. So, whatever you're feeling, it's the soul behind those feelings that speak up.

So how does the soul talk to us? Through our thoughts. Thoughts come into our minds from outside sources, such as people, places, events, and objects. Sometimes these thoughts are positive and sometimes negative. Either way, they affect us emotionally.

This connection between our thoughts and emotions is known as "thought energy." It's the same thing that allows us to see colors, smell smells, taste food, and even sense pain. Thought energy isn't always good, though. Negative thoughts can cause us to worry, stress over small problems, or obsess over big ones. All of which takes away from our happiness and well-being.

Fortunately, we don't have to live with negative thoughts forever. Instead, we can change how we think and live by changing how we look at situations. Try to focus on the positive that could happen to start feeling more contentment and avoid focusing on the negative.

Research suggests that focusing on the positive can actually make us healthier. A study published in the Health Psychology journal found that people who concentrated on the positive effects of exercise had better physical health than those who focused on the negatives.

Another study showed that people who concentrated on their strengths rather than weaknesses felt less depressed.

Maybe the voice is in your head

We all have an internal discussion, also known as gut instinct or intuition. Whatever you want to call it, it's there, even if you don't notice. Whether you listen to it or not depends on how much you acknowledge it exists.

You might miss important signals about what matters most if you pay too little attention.

But, on the other hand, if you pay too much attention to it, you could end up doing things that are out of character for you. You might even make poor choices.
