An apparition appearing in your dream may nudge you to hear your inner dialogue. We may hear our own voice inside of us. It's a meaningful thing we do every day.

But listening to our inner voice isn't always easy because sometimes we don't know what it sounds like.

So, we must listen to ourselves and comprehend our heart and soul desires.

Set the intention to your inner voice

Listening to your inner voice may not be something you're familiar with. We tend to listen to our outer voices, like those around us, and ignore our inner speech. But when we tune into our inner voice, we realize we are much wiser than we think.

The key to tuning into your inner voice is to set the intention. Ask yourself questions like how it feels or what you want. This way, you can ignore any outside voice and focus on the answer from your inner spirit.

Once you've tuned into that inner speech, you can feel the following things.

1) Become more aware of what you're feeling

Feelings come and go. So, when you notice that you're feeling angry, happy, or sad, acknowledge that you're feeling that way. Don't judge yourself for what you feel.

2) Listen to what you want to hear, not what you don't want

Listening to thoughts that don't serve you, like negative emotions, can damage you. Maybe this repetition of negative thoughts is something you're familiar with, and your spirit guide wants you to work on this.

So instead, listen to what you want to say and what answers you'd like to hear. Keep your phrases positive. Tell yourself that you're worthy, powerful, and able to accept positive energy.

3) Keep your intentions clear

Make sure you understand exactly why you're saying certain things to yourself.

For example, telling yourself that you're not good enough doesn't mean you're incapable of doing anything. Instead, what you mean is you could excel in one niche.

Once you figure out where you're lacking, you can work on improving that skill.

When stressed or overwhelmed, it can feel like our inner voices are talking over us. We might even think we don't know how to hear ourselves speak. But keeping your thoughts clear and not overthinking can help.

Practice active deep listening

Your inner voice may be foreign, so you'll need to practice deeper active listening.

Active deep listening is an essential skill we use to communicate effectively. When we listen deeply, we can pick up on what other people are saying and not be preoccupied with our thoughts.

Listening deeply allows us to truly understand someone else's perspective and empathize with them.

In addition, it helps us gain insight into ourselves and become aware of our own emotions. So why not try this type of listening to your inner voice?

You can practice deep listening by reflecting on your interactions with your inner self daily.

For example, what type of conversations do you want to have? Will you be asking yourself questions, or are you opening your heart to what your inner dialogue has to say?

Try journaling in the morning or at night

Journaling is an effective way of improving your self-awareness. You can do it daily to remain focused on your conversation with your inner self.

The best part of journaling is that it doesn't require much effort. So, if you're feeling overwhelmed, start writing down whatever thoughts come to mind.

You can also focus on your dialogue with your inner voice and note anything that stands out.
